Gregory T. Miller is a member of Behavioral Measures & Forensic Services Southwest, Inc. Mr. Miller attended Southern Methodist University where he received his J.D. in 1987; he attended the University of Texas at Arlington where he received his M.A. in Criminal Justice in 1984; and he received his B.B.A. in Business Management from Texas Christian University in 1976.
Mr. Miller attended Veridicus International Polygraph Academy in 2012 and became a licensed polygraph examiner in 2013 after his internship with Behavioral Measures. From 2013 until he returned to the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office in January of 2015, Mr. Miller conducted polygraph examinations for a variety of clients – District Attorney Offices, criminal defense lawyers, police departments, fire departments, criminal courts, adult and juvenile sex offenders who are on probation, adult non-sexual offenders on probation and EPPA matters.
From 1997 through 2012, Mr. Miller was Deputy Chief of the Criminal District for the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office. In this position, he supervised the felony trial lawyers, including prosecutors assigned to the homicide-gang units. He prosecuted cases on a regular basis. Usually, these cases were Capital Murder and Murder cases which were problematic from an evidentiary standpoint.
From 1991 to 1997, Mr. Miller was Felony Court Chief for the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office. As Court Chief, he supervised four other felony attorneys and was responsible for day-to-day operation of the court from a prosecution prospective.
After passing the State Bar Exam in November of 1987, Mr. Miller joined the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office and began as a misdemeanor prosecutor prosecuting primarily DWI cases. In then in 1990 he was promoted to felony prosecutor. During his 25-year career at the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office, he taught a variety of courses and lectured to many police officers throughout Tarrant County and taught many courses in the area of arrest, search and seizure, confessions and interviewing techniques.
From 1971 to 1984, Mr. Miller was a Fort Worth Police Officer and during his almost 14 year career, he was assigned to Patrol and the Crime Scene Search Unit. As a Detective, he was assigned to Homicide and as a Sergeant he was assigned to IAD and the Hit & Run Unit. He received the Officer of the Year award in 1976 and left the department in 1984 to attend law school.
